2. SOUNDBITE (English) Micah Muzio, Kelley Blue Book:
"LA you know has a specific vibe. It's very you know image-focused and also kind of green. And so it kind of sets the tone for what we might expect to see in the coming year."
3. Wide of Lincoln car displays
4. Various of Lincoln Nautilus
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Micah Muzio, Kelley Blue Book:
"I think if you can determine a trend based on what we've seen at the L.A. Auto Show it's more SUVs. A lot of manufacturers are introducing new vehicles here. There's the Hyundai Kona which is a small SUV and then Mitsubishi has a new Eclipse Cross, another small SUV. Toyota unveiled a concept car that is an SUV. So that's that's sort of the theme. America is moving to SUVs. And the automakers are trying to be where the dollars are."
6. Various of Subaru Ascent display
7. Various of Kia Sorento
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Micah Muzio, Kelley Blue Book:
"In terms of features, one of the things that we're seeing is the trickle down effect where dynamic vehicle aids that step in when the driver is inattentive or terrible at their job have finally made their way down from expensive vehicles to much more accessibly-priced vehicles. So we saw that with Honda with the Civic introduced Honda Sensing for a thousand dollars you could have lane keeping assist and you know adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, that kind of stuff, which is one of the reasons why it's a Kelley Blue Book Best Buy. Same thing with the Honda Accord and we're seeing that same idea stretch to other manufacturers."
9 . Various of Eclipse Cross Mitsubishi
10. Various of Nissan Star Wars display
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Micah Muzio, Kelley Blue Book:
"I would say in a lot of ways it's maybe less green than in years past. I mean the SUV trend is a big one and SUVs are sort of inherently less efficient than their car counterparts. And we did see the Corvette Z-R one a 200 mile per hour convertible and that's not particularly green. Tesla did have a presence but they didn't really introduce any new product so yeah I'll just sort of unofficial announce that this is a less green L.A. Auto Show."

LEADIN:
Automakers are also appealing to buyers' sense of adventure at Los Angeles Auto Show, with the debut of several off-road vehicles.
SUVs, from rough-and-tumble Jeeps to the Lincoln Nautilus are the main attraction at this year's event.
STORYLINE:
The floor at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show looks a lot like America's roads: full of SUVs.
Hyundai and Nissan debuted new small SUVs at the show, while Subaru will take the wraps off its new three-row SUV, the Ascent.
Jeep will show a new version of its rough-and-tumble Wrangler, while Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln and Porsche will debut more refined models.
Micah Muzio from the online car reviewer and trader Kelley Blue Book is looking forward to an interesting season: "LA you know has a specific vibe. It's very you know image-focused and also kind of green. And so it kind of sets the tone for what we might expect to see in the coming year."
As of October, overall U.S. vehicle sales were down 2 percent compared to the same period last year, but SUV sales were up 6 percent, according to Autodata Corp.
But Muzio thinks the event is less eco-conscious than in previous years.
