Rahat water irrigation system was very common in Punjab during last century. Now this old irrigation system only exists in few areas of Punjab, Pakistan. In this traditional method bulls pull up water from a well or other such source to irrigate the land. Farmers use a large wheel and tie it above the water source or well. Bulls or cows move the wheel and fetch the water up. This water irrigation system is known as moat, water wheel, persian wheel, dhekli, rehat, jhallaar or jhatta in Pakistan, India and other parts of the world.
