UPDATE 10.31.12 Like many others, I was lucky enough to catch BART at 24th back when Jesse was a regular fixture. I didn't know him really, but I'd stopped and spoken with him a few times after watching him play - he was a sweet guy, gracious and humble, and really open about his life. One morning I asked if I could record a full song, and he said sure, as long as I put it on YouTube and tagged it with "jesse morris" and "punk rock".
