We begin with Breaking News: The Ministers’ Deputies of the Council of Europe Committee have just handed down the decision for Osman Kavala and Selahattin Demirtaş. The Deputies recalled that in these cases the Court found that the applicants were detained in the absence of evidence to support a reasonable suspicion that they had committed an offence.
Our main story tonight: Anti-Vaxers in Turkey. Last Saturday, Istanbul’s Maltepe district saw the largest anti-vaxxer gathering in Turkey to date. But before we move onto that, we’ll start with COVID numbers.
In other news, The Council of Higher Education lifts the B2 Turkish proficiency requirement for French academics.
In the economy, the numbers are in; half of Turkey is in debt. Lütfi Elvan, The Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey responded to a written inquiry by Sezgin Tanrıkulu, revealing that 34 million people in Turkey have active loan accounts with various banks.
