Ottawa Public Health has announced a person’s death in August could be attributed to contracting a rare, mosquito-borne illness that has no cure: the eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV), also known as ‘Triple E.’
And while it is exceedingly rare in Canada, experts say it could become more common with a warmer climate.
