The Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award annually recognizes outstanding African American artists of children’s books who demonstrate an appreciation of African American culture and universal human values. Our Voice: Celebrating the Coretta Scott King Awards is the first retrospective of all winners and honorees since the establishment of the award in 1974. This video focuses on Ashley Bryan, who won the CSK award eight times between 1984 and 2008.
This exhibition is organized by the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature, Abilene, Texas, and was scheduled to appear at Grinnell College Museum of Art May 29 - July 31, 2020. Due to Covid-19 the physical exhibition was canceled, and this virtual tour has been created in its place. Special thanks to Nick Glass and TeachingBooks.net.
