Our inspection of a huge white oak (Quercus alba) tree. We used a resistance drill to assess the extent of the internal decay, and found that the tree unfortunately does not have enough strong wood to be left standing without a high risk of failure. Given that there are many targets around, we sadly had to recommend that this tree be removed. Instead of a complete removal, we recommended the client leave a standing snag for wildlife, and we recommended that they replace with 3 new white oak trees on the property.
