The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a year-long program that works with students to form REAL companies. Communities come together in a variety of ways to support the students during the learning process from hosting field trips, acting as a mentor, and sponsoring student scholarships.
In Hurst, Euless and Bedford, the HEB Chamber of Commerce and the HEB ISD partnered to bring (YEA!) to the district. Two classes have already graduated, and these students have gone on to become CEOs of their own companies. Some of them are for profit, while others are social causes that may one day be incorporated into non-profits.
Three students have gone on to compete in the Saunders Scholars competition with an opportunity to win a substantial college scholarship.
