This is a video I took of the 4 day a week CN 406 Westbound rumbling up hill at mile post 81.38 of the CN Sussex Subdivision closing in on their final destination of Saint John maintaining track speed(35mph) up the hill with 4 big gevos for power!
On April 16th, 2020 I took a short 2 kilometre walk up to Kpark crossing to catch the 406 manifest freight train headed for Saint John's NBSR Island yard with a good sized train with a good size string of loaded potash hoppers for Courtney bay. A B730 potash train came into Saint John the night before with the same power in this 406 but with 146 loaded potash hoppers! This train 406 had a quartet of ES44AC's for power with CN 2845 leading 2803, 3811 and 2930 hauling a good sized train of 120 cars including 43 loaded potash hoppers with the other mixed manifest Sussex Sub freight and a friendly wave from both the engineer and conductor!
