Ingredients Required to make Goan Fish Curry -
For the marination
4 slices kingfish (Surmai)
½ tsp salt
1 pc lemon juice
¼ tsp turmeric powder
For the masala
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cu in seeds
¾ cup grated coconut
6-8 Kashmiri chillies
5-6 garlic cloves
1 tsp black peppercorns
1 small cinnamon stick
2 cloves
½ cup water
For the gravy
2 tbsp oil
½ cup chopped onions
2 slit green chillies
Salt to taste
1 cup chopped tomatoes
2 cups water
2 cups coconut milk
½ cup tamarind pulp
Method to make Goan Fish Curry -
Take the fish in a bowl & marinate with salt, turmeric & lemon juice, mix well &b let it marinate for 25 mins.
Now in your mixer grinder take all the ingredients for the masala, add water & grind to a paste. Keep aside for later.
Next heat oil in khadi & saute the onions & green chillies, once the onions turn translucent add the tomato & saute till soft.
Now add the masala & fry for 3-4 mins on low wheat.
Add water & bring to a boil, next add the marinated fish & gently mix.
Now finish with coconut milk & simmer for 10 mins.
Finish with some tamarind polo & simmer for another 5 mins.
Serve hot with rice.
