Welcome back to the S14 Vlog Series. This is the 15th video focused on building and driving my S14. It starts out at the shop, where I once over the S14, and then I put a set of 17X9's with 245 Federall SS595 tires on the rear of the car. After loading the truck, Jen and I grab the trailer and load the car. Last thing we had left to do was to go onto MotorsportsReg.com to register for the event. Next morning we're on the road early and end up pulling up to the track at sunrise. After getting signed in, we check out the course, put our numbers on the car, and pass tech. They put us in "SMS" which is the "Street Modified, Street Tire" class. It was our first time ever doing autocross, so we decided to go on the novice course walk. At the drivers meeting we find out that I will be working the first group, and running the second. You have to work at a corner, picking up cones and reporting them to the people working timing. Once I'm done working, we get ready to drive. We get lined up, and take our first run, end up running a 32 second lap. The second run we get into the 31's, and by the end of the day into the 30's. I didn't hit a single cone all day, and we ended up getting 3rd place overall in our class. It was enough to take home one of their small orange cone trophies. Jen and I did our best to get some video of the interesting mix of cars that were there participating. At the end of the event, we walk up to the top of the grandstands at MIS to check out the view, then head to Applebees for dinner.
Inspired by all of the automotive content creators gaining popularity on YouTube, I decided to try it for myself. Jennifer and I started developing this series back in July 2017. We have done so much cool stuff since then, it has been an absolutely incredible journey. After building and testing the S14, we take it out and drive at:
