This is an Italian renaissance tune, a Neapolitan villanella from the 16th century, originally used in staged performances of the Commedia dell'Arte. Ricciulina (also spelled Ricciolina) was one of the female stock characters in the Commedia dell'Arte.
This arrangement is by John T La Barbera, from his book "Traditional Southern Italian Mandolin & Fiddle Tunes". I play it as a duet on my Giuseppe Vinaccia bowlback mandolin, with tenor guitar accompaniment.
