In this second of two videos, I demonstrate how to work through the Siemens Simcenter Testlab Structures Modal Analysis Tutorial (which can be accessed in the Support Center for Siemens Digital Industries Software products) focussing on the Modal Synthesis and Validation parts of the application.
In the Synthesis workbook, I talk through comparing and contrasting the mathematical fits for the FRFs over the solved band with the experimental data. I look at the FRFs at particular points and the missing resonances, taking into account the nature of the vibration at those frequencies and compare and contrast this with what is observed with quadrature peak picking.
In the Validation workbook, I spend time looking at Auto-MAC for confirming the mode shapes and MAC for comparing between different Processings.
