This evening we'll be following a unique 4-6-2 'Pacific' steam locomotive as she hauls a special Christmas train from Kingswear (Devon) all the way up to Coniston (Cumbria). I chose The Great Bear because she's one of my favourite Great Western engines, but not as much as the 72xx class, and I though it had been too long since she was featured in a video.

Besides documenting The Great Bear's special run, I've included bonus railfanning features from the Midland Line (NZ) and Northeast Corridor (US). In the Southern Hemisphere our seasons are flipped round, so we have our summer in December and January.
