Sarah is a third year undergraduate student in the School of Medicine at NUI Galway. The nutritional advantages of breastfeeding (BF) and its protection against infection has been documented globally. Nevertheless, Ireland has one of the lowest BF rates in the world. Her research explores whether Irish data conforms with the international literature in that increased BF protects against childhood morbidity. Her work was funded by the Health Research Board (HRB).
