Info on Presenters:
Dr Ruby S. Alleyne is Vice-President, Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of the West Indies and her areas of specialisation are higher education administration and organisation development.
Dr Alleyne has played a significant role in the development of quality assurance and accreditation systems in the Caribbean for many years and was appointed Chairperson of the Working Group established by the CARICOM Secretariat to develop a mechanism for oversight over all accreditation bodies in the region. She currently chairs the Task Force to lay the groundwork for the establishment of the CARICOM Quality Assurance Register (CQAR).
A pioneer in terms of national accreditation systems in CARICOM, Dr Alleyne has provided technical assistance and training to national accreditation bodies and government ministries throughout the region. She is currently a member of the Commonwealth of Learning Transnational Qualifications Framework Management Committee (TQFMC). She is also Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Training Agency (NTA) and Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT).
