We take a look at a Craftsman Riding Mower that is not running right and surging and show how to easily replace the carburetor on a Briggs and Stratton V twin engine and troubleshoot issues you may have if installing a carburetor on these engines.
What to look out for and how to diagnose and repair running issues. These issues many times present as a mower not running if you take the choke off, surging bad or dying under a load.
We go in depth of the replacement process and show the common issue we see with customer installing the new carburetors but they still won't run right.
We see customers run into this problem a lot after installing aftermarket carburetors on these engines also.

If your motor has a separate choke you will need a different carburetor, this one will not work even though it looks the same. This carburetor is meant for units with a choke/throttle cable in one (choke-a-matic)
