Dr. Benjamin Greenberg presented some of the research being pursued at University of Texas Southwestern on neuroplasticity and functional repair in MOGAD. He gave a fascinating look at how our understanding of MOGAD has evolved over time with advancements in identifying the biomarker and looking at the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFL) using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to learn about unique features of MOGAD. The research study is using advanced imaging with two different types of MRIs to look at not just structure but also function to understand and learn more about the inherent plasticity in our nervous system.
