Paragliding the Sacred Valley, Peru. May 2018

This was the most beautiful site I've flown to date! It was an interesting adventure just getting to launch. I decided to take a 'collectivo' which is basically a budget ride-sharing without the app. When I spoke to the driver, I initially had an idea of where I wanted to go to launch. When he found out that I was going to fly, he said "Ahhh yes! I know where they fly from, I'll take you there!" Trusting in his experience and my understanding of Spanish, I decided to stay in the van and look watch doubtingly as my first thought launch site faded out of the rear-view mirror. A long 20 minutes later, he signals to me and says 'off you get!' In my excitement, Im out of my seat and open the door to see a grassy hill, and nothing more. My driver kindly opens the boot and hands me my equipment, and before I can shake his hand, he's off with a smile and a wave. I turn and face what I know will be a rewarding and literally breathtaking hike to the top.
I walk for an hour, pushing myself, and my equipment up the hill. Though I've developed a rythem in my step, the altitude takes its wrestles me to a break, and occasional vlog break respectivly. I get to the top. It is absolutly what I had imagined, and more! Standing on launch, with the wind in my face, the hills tells me few tales of passing people. Thankyou collectivo driver, for your uncertainty, for your experience, for your smile of overconfident confidnece.
