A woman who allegedly threatened officers with a gun was rushed to the hospital after being shot by a Phoenix police officer Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting happened around 5:40 p.m. near Mountain Vista Park and 48th Street in Ahwatukee.
Police got calls from mental health experts who reported a woman inside an apartment was threatening to hurt herself and other people.
When officers arrived, they heard a gunshot inside the complex. After the area was evacuated, police say the suspect opened the door armed with a gun.
