The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on 1 – 12 November 2021 to demonstrate the urgency and the opportunities of the journey towards a zero-carbon economy and the power of international cooperation to address the gravest challenges the world faces.
With an objective to harness the innovation and commitment of all – citizens, investors, business, countries, cities, and regions – to move the global economy to net zero, what can we do within our own companies and daily lives.
Whilst Climate Change and terms like ‘climate crisis’ are nothing new, our fight for the planet is in a crucial phase and it’s important that everyone’s thoughts, ideas and efforts are considered.
With this in mind, in recognition of International Men’s Day, our November #ImpactWednesday event is open to everyone alongside our core female members. Don't forget to register male colleagues and friends.
For this special session we are collaborating with NatWest. You will have the chance to discuss and develop ideas in roundtables on what we can do as individuals, and collectively, to deal with these real-world challenges.
The Network will be joined by Prof Dr Marie-Claire Cordonier Segger, an award-winning executive, expert jurist and professor in international policy, law and partnerships on sustainable development. Marie-Claire currently serves as Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge, Executive Secretary of the global Climate Law and Governance Initiative (CLGI), and Senior Director of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL).
Attendees will also have the chance to listen to Dr Nicky Dee, co-founder and Chief Sustainability and Innovation Officer at Carbon 13. Nicky is currently a fellow with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and holds a PhD in environmental technology management from the University of Cambridge.
