Recently, a cliff collapse occurred at Rat Beach near Palos Verdes Estates in Southern California. The landslide sent dirt and rocks crashing onto the beach below, hitting a maintenance vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. This area is prone to such collapses, as the Palos Verdes cliffs are known to experience rapid coastal erosion.
