Week 6 of bikepacking through Europe found me still in Croatia, but away from the coast.
It was time to explore the more rural and remote villages of Velebit National Park. These tall, rugged mountains were spectacular and offered some unexpected encounters and experiences.
Velebit National Park is a place of great beauty but it was odd biking through villages that were abandoned but had well-kept graveyards. Besides this, cycling through the Croatian mountains offered me the chance to meet all sorts of creatures.
This bike packing week was intense: unexpected encounters, strange and eerie vibes, lots of inclines, lack of food and water, and the best views over the Croatian coast and islands. IT HAD EVERYTHING and it was a week I will not forget!
