The mother of Colonel Santosh Babu, who was martyred at Galwan Valley, Ladakh, after a faceoff with Chinese soldiers.

The Indian Army Officer who laid down his life while defending India from Chinese incursion has been identified as Colonel Santosh Babu. He was a native of Suryapet District, Telangana, and became the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Regiment, of the Indian Army.
Last night at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, Indian and Chinese troops were engaged in hand-to-hand combat after tensions flared at the border. Even until his last breath, Colonel Santosh Babu and two other soldiers bravely fought Chinese PLA soldiers, and attained martyrdom.
He is survived by his wife and 2 children. He was the son of Physical education teacher, and became an officer in the Indian Army after studying at the Korukonda Sainik School in Hyderabad.
His bravery in the face of danger, his undying dying love for the country, and willingness to go to any length to protect the sovereignty of India will never be forgotten.
