Austrian conservative leader Sebastian Kurz triumphed in Sunday's parliamentary election, as widely expected, but he will need a coalition partner to form a stable government. Meanwhile, support for the far-right Freedom party (FPÖ) fell by more than a third as voters punished the party for a corruption scandal that brought down the government. 'It was an incredibly difficult election campaign, the FPÖ leader, Norbert Hofer, told supporters.
