Brushing a jar with a yellow iron oxide slip in an attempt to save the vessel. If you’ve been following along recently you might have seen some bowls coated thickly with this iron mixture, which were fired again and came out of the kiln fantastically. So this is an attempt to fix a jar that I don’t particularly like. A waste maybe, perhaps I should just make and fire another one but I really want to see that fluid, metallic surface on one of these. I'll be firing this early next week, so hopefully I'll have some results to show you soon, (if it fires nicely).
Like I always mention, these videos make up just a tiny portion of the content I upload to YouTube. If you like these then I'm sure you'll love the longer format videos I post too. Take a look on my channel to find them!
