Jihad Khodr is the first Muslim surfer to join the WSL elite. Of Lebanese descent, the athlete was born and raised in Matinhos, southern Brazil.
His city is home to an important right hand point-break that helped him shape his fast style with excellent connection between maneuvers. Jihad is also an excellent tube rider - a skill he acquired on the tubes of the first section of his home break.
On good days at Matinhos Point, he will probably be seen tearing through the waves at high speed and walking back towards the peak, with a smile on his face.
