Electrospinning, as the name implies is a process by which nanofibres of a solution or melt (polymer or polymer mixed) been generated in the presence of electric field. Unlike other techniques of producing 1-D polymeric nanostructure like top-down method which involve photolithography or soft lithography, electrospinning is incredibly straightforward, simple and cheaper. Research activities and development in electrospinning have become even more popular when composite polymer/ drug nanofibres successfully been fabricated. Although the polymeric drug delivery materials were able to load the drugs, however the materials are insufficient to control the drug release rate on the human body. This leads to harmful effect on the skin where it creates adverse effect when applying drugs without strictly order. PVA has been identified as a suitable candidate that can be used in releasing biological and medical materials in a controlled way. Hence, the polymer-based materials such as nano- and microsparticles within hydrogel have been made to coat the drugs.
