A new study from the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in Melbourne suggests that monitoring changes in antibody levels can help predict whether a child will outgrow their #peanut #allergy.
Researchers found that children whose peanut allergies persisted had increased levels of specific #antibodies and stronger reactions in skin prick tests, while those who outgrew their allergies showed decreased antibody levels and reactions over time. These findings may help allergists identify which children need ongoing monitoring and which might develop tolerance.
The study, part of the #HealthNuts project, emphasizes the importance of monitoring antibody changes rather than single-time measurements.
