Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this etrailer 10 foot long cam-buckle tie down strap with the S-hooks, and it has a 440 pound working load limit. It is for a quantity of one strap. Now, this is a cinching tie down strap. This will let you secure kayaks, canoes, or other items to your cargo carrier roof rack.
Uses the sync plated cam-buckle. If we zoom in to show you it, this will hold your strap tight over your gear. Basically, when you install your strap, you'll take this plain end right here, and then you'll insert it up through underneath, pull it out this way. And then when you press this down, it'll release the strap, and then you can pull it. If we hold this down, you can see you can pull it to tighten it for however you need.
Once you get it tight, release that, and it holds it into place, and you just pull it to cinch it tight. If you notice, what's nice is underneath here, they have this rubber pad that's attached to the strap, and that'll pretty much automatically go underneath there. So, when you tighten your strap down like that, you can see that this buckle will be over the rubber pad, and that protects your cargo from getting any damage. On each end of the strap, they have these vinyl coated S-hooks that have these spring loaded keepers. This will help keep this strap attached to your anchor plate.
The black portion of the S-hook is all vinyl coating to help prevent your gear from being scratched. And the webbing on this, the webbing is a one inch wide durable polyester webbing. It's like a seatbelt material. It is abrasion resistant. And if you notice, the strap is bright yellow color, so it makes it very easy to see in the day or the night.
I wanna zoom out on this end. There's a neat little feature. They have this hook and loop fastener that's attached to the end of the strap. So, what's nice about that, is when you get this tight as you need around your cargo, and you'll have excess strap left over, take that excess strap, just push it down there, put your hook and loop fastener, attach it, and that'll hold that strap in place. So, it keeps it from flapping around, keeps it all together in one place. A few specs on this, it's for a quantity of one ratchet strap. The strap dimension is one inches wide. One inch wide by 10 feet long. Maximum loader brake strength on this strap is 1,320 pounds. Safe working load limit is a third of that, which is 440 pounds. Note I do want to mention is, these tie down straps and their accessories must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. And the load limit is always on a tag right there on the strap to let you know what it is. But basically, the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So, for example, if you're using straps that have a working load limit of 500 pounds each to tie down a load weighing a thousand pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And it is recommended that you always use straps in pairs. This part number is just for one strap. If you do want to order two of them, you can order the part number E82NR. That would be the same strap for a quantity of two. And that's usually listed on this product page as a related product. But that should do it for the review on the etrailer 10 foot long cam-buckle tie down strap with the S-hooks and a 440 pound working load limit.
