Here's a list of relevant work/volunteer experience: (examples)

-Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (requirements vary by state)
-Daycare Teacher (adult/children)
-Subsititute Teacher
-Volunteer at a campus event
-Volunteer your time to an association that helps people with disabilities
-Early childhood Intervention Specialist (varies by state)
-Tutor

(Don't get discouraged, work on weak areas of your application)
