This was our last stop on our Great South African Road Trip and I (Marek) had a burning question that I had been waiting for months to ask Sarah. Sarah and I have been dating for 3 and a half years now and have been on some amazing adventures together. My life has been better since the moment she walked into it and I’ve known for a long time now that she is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I’ve just been waiting for the right moment to ask her…

Our trip was not without some car troubles and less than favorable weather but nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Stay tuned to find out how it all went down 😉💍

We stayed at Coffee Shack Backpackers which is tucked away in coffee bay itself located a couple of meters away from the ocean. Started in the year 2000, Coffee Shack is one of the most successful and popular backpackers in the country and prides itself in a number of outreach programs they run with the purpose of uplifting the community they are based in. They offer a number of different accommodation options depending on your budget including camping, dorms, and rondavels (in case you’re wondering, a rondavel is a traditional African-style hut). They also encourage a social experience with the hosting of a bonfire each week at their world-famous babalaza bar. For more active travelers they host a number of activities including guided hikes and surf lessons. The scenery surrounding the backpackers is breath-taking and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Our tips for visiting Hole in the Wall/Coffee Bay:
◾Come for at least a few days, there are so many fun activities to do!
◾ Beware of the potholes on the road to Coffee Bay.
◾There are a number of great backpackers in Coffee Bay which is a twenty-minute drive from Hole in the Wall. We stayed in Coffee Bay and took a day trip to Hole in the Wall.
