During the production of the film Unbroken, Angelina Jolie, as the director, developed a deep connection with the late Louis Zamperini, the individual on whom the movie was based. After she found out that he was in the hospital before the movie was released, she went to visit him and brought along the rough cut of the film. Louie was able to watch it on Angelina Jolie's laptop while in the hospital before he passed away.
