Dragonflies are flying insects with two pairs of see-through wings, huge eyes, and long bodies. You will find them near lakes, streams, and ponds throughout most of the world.
Because dragonflies are insects, they have 6 legs, a thorax, a head, and an abdomen. Their head is large with very short antennae. Dragonflies come in a variety of colours including blue, green, yellow, and red. They are some of the most colourful insects on the planet. They also come in a range of sizes from half an inch long to over 5 inches long.
