FRANKFORT, Ky. (Joe Webb) -- The Secretary of State Jack Conway made a bid to keep the Kentucky governors office in the hands of the Democrats. His effort came up short, Nov. 3, was a tough night for Kentucky Democrats. There were six statewide offices up for grabs and four of them went to Republicans. At the top of the ticket, sitting Attorney General Jack Conway lost the governors race to newcomer, Matt Bevin. The Associated Press called the race at 8:15 p.m. At 8:45 p.m. Conway thanked supporters, his family, and told them he had called Bevin, conceited and wished him well. Conway remained positive about moving Kentucky forward. The Democrats were hoping for a big night to give them the momentum going into 2016 and a good candidate to run against Rand Paul for the US Senate. That didnt happen. One of Tuesdays winners, Alison Lundergan Grimes, said Wednesday, Nov. 4, they begin rebuilding the Kentucky Democratic Party. Follow Joe Webb on Twitter @joewebbwkrc, and LIKE him on Facebook.
