Historical dancing remains a subject of scholarly dispute. Dance historians are liable to disagree with each other over over just about any aspect of historical dancing. In order to avoid confusion within ourselves, Hampshire Regency Dancers have adopted a house style which dictates how we do things. Ours is not the ‘only’ way to dance in a Regency style, it is just our way of doing things by default when we encounter a new dance for the first time.
