Back in the late 1960s, Australian car manufacturers were struggling to create a vehicle that could compete on the global stage. Engines were limited, and performance was often overshadowed by European and American rivals. This all changed with the introduction of the Holden Torana’s XU-1 in 1972. Built to tackle the Bathurst 500, the XU-1's power and agility revolutionized Australian motorsport. With the success of the XU-1 came the L34, followed by the A9X, each model pushing the boundaries of engineering and design. The challenges of racing at Bathurst with unreliable engines and limited resources, this is the story of the legendary Holden Torana.
