The “Liberation of Hyderabad” and its integration into the Indian Union is a historical event with different political perspectives and will see parallel events being held to mark the occasion. September 17 will be commemorated by the Union government as ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ and by the government of Telangana as ‘National Integration Day’ as the BJP and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) compete to stir sensibilities in their attempts to woo the electorate for the Telangana assembly polls scheduled next year.
