The Goa Shipyard launched, itsfirst of the two P11356 Yard 1258 frigate for the Indian Navy. This frigate is follow-up model of Russian Talwar-class vessel and is the first ever model constructed in India. The vessel was launched by Adv. Rita Sreedharan, the wife of the Governor of Goa, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, along with Vice chief Navy Admiral Krishna Swaminathan AVSM, Brajash Kumar Upadhyaya Chairman and Managing Director Goa Shipyard Ltd at Goa Shipyard Ltd.The Goa shipyard focuses on increasing its market size and is destined to venture into the foreign market of ship building.
