A show of two halves:
The simple joys of a solar pinhole camera, with Sam Cornwell from Solarcan.
Then we're going in depth: it's the return of Affelia Wibisono on X-ray emissions from the giant planets. A few months ago her team's paper about detecting X-rays from Uranus for the first time had a lot of public attention. They have another paper coming out about Saturn.
This observation happened when Saturn was inside Jupiter’s magnetosphere, which is the magnetic bubble around a planet caused by its magnetic field. Jupiter’s magnetosphere is so big it reaches the orbit of Saturn and the two planets align every 20 years.
Guaranteed stuff you didn't know.
Eleni will rattle your brain with cutting edge space news. Sonia is here with the observing forecast and a presentation for beginners.
In between pestering and mithering, Cosmo the Telescope Sloth has been on an exotic voyage, but can you guess where?
This whole pile of cosmic rubble is loosely gravitationally bound by host Vicky Duncalf.
The show was recently called 'The Greatest Show on Earth' by viewer Ged Mac. Cosmo is taking all the credit.
