Colocasia Stem Chutney
Ingredients
Colocasia Stem
Coriander seeds- 5tsp
Mustard 1/4th tsp
Jira 3/4th tsp
Tamarind - Half lemon size
Onion - 1
salt as per taste
Byadgi Red Chilli - 10
Grated coconut - half
jaggery - 2 lemon size
Pepper - 10
Garlic cloves - 10
Turmeric powder - 1 and half tsp
Seasoning:
oil/Ghee
Garlic clove 4 - 5
Mustard - 1tsp
Red chilli - 2
Curry leaves
Preparation:
* First Peel the stem
* Cut into small pieces
* Wash the cuttings and let the water to drain
* Boil the stem cuttings for 15 mins with water and salt
* Keep stirring in between
* Drain the boiled cuttings
* Grind the masala with water nd salt
* First heat the empty pan and add a few tablespoons of oil/ghee, let the Mustard splutter then add garlic cloves then add red chilly and curry leaves
* Add the Colocasia stem and saute it
* Add the Masala
* Adjust the thickness of masala by adding water and add salt to taste
* Add jaggery to masala
* Boil till jaggery Dissolves
Chutney is ready!
