Hon-Kei (汉记) has risen to be a popular eating spot among locals and tourists due to its strategic location in Georgetown, Penang. Their signature is Minced Pork Noodle 猪(zhu) 肉(rou) 粉(fen), a soup based noodle. There are many versions of noodle and toppings you can add, and mind you, it includes various parts of pig internal organs (uh-huh).
The soup is cooked in long hours with pig bones and various herbs & spices, making the soup taste sweet and aromatic. Each bowl is cooked per order, customised to your liking, with minced pork, an almost raw egg, scallions and garlic oil. It's best served hot.
ordinary bowl is RM7.50 ($1.85USD in 2019) and is considerably pricey among other hawker food. You could get cheaper options else where with similar quality. But since HonKei has been popular for quite some time, it's always crowded with people.
