In this workshop Gillian Gunn (Highland Council) and Jenny Williamson (Scottish Borders Council) highlight the work that has been done by the two local authorities to implement MARAC, the challenges they faced and learning they have gathered. They discuss how best to ensure consistency for MARACs across Scotland through the SafeLives MARAC Development Programme.
The National Violence Against Women Network hosted a Conference on 1st November 2017 to discuss why ‘Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls is Everyone’s Business’. As part of the conference, speakers highlighted the activities their organisations are undertaking to tackle violence against women and the importance of partnerships working to this agenda. As part of this a series of workshops were held for delegates to find out about a range of projects.
Coordinated by the Improvement Service, the National Violence Against Women Network aims to improve the capacity and capability of multi-agency VAW Partnerships to implement the ambitions set out in Equally Safe at a local level and to support partnerships to engage effectively with community planning processes.
