I know I haven’t posted any vlogs lately, so I thought I’d drop a brief video to explain. I was traveling a lot for my work while experimenting with different medications, exercise routines and nutrition to treat my long COVID symptoms. With Vermont 100 on the loom, I really wanted to make sure I’m healthy enough to toe the start line. I’m sure at some point I’ll do a video about my recovery from long COVID.
Speaking of Vermont 100, because of my hectic work schedule, I hadn’t trained in the traditional way where I would slowly build up and maintain a weekly mileage over time. Instead, I trained with back-to-back weekend races as my long runs (let me know if you want to see more of these "race report" videos). I had good and bad days because of my long COVID, including a DNF at Manitou's Revenge that left me questioning my ability to complete Vermont 100.
Ultimately, I decided to give Vermont 100 a go. After all, the uncertainty of finishing a 100-mile race is exactly why I wanted to do it in the first place.
