As part of the Singapore Convention Week 2022, and in collaboration with the Singapore Ministry of Law, SIMI convened a panel discussion titled "Quality assurance in the mediation industry: A new dawn" on 2 Sep 2022. This panel explored how quality amongst mediation professionals and the mediation process can be assured through mediation standards; which need development / further establishment and how to do so, and how they can be communicated, maintained, and gain international acceptance.
We were privileged to have 5 mediation experts on the panel, including 3 SIMI Certified Mediators: Mr. Lok Vi Ming SC, Managing Director, LVM Law Chambers LLC, Mr. See Chern Yang, Director, Drew & Napier LLC and Asst. Prof. Dorcas Quek Anderson, Asst. Professor of Law, Singapore Management University. They were joined by Chief Legal Officer Ms Nishtha Kharb (MBK Healthcare Management) and Ms Ana Goncalves (Founder, Institute for Certification and Training of Lusophone Mediators).
