Christmas is a relatively new tradition for South Korea. Even though almost half of the population identifies as Christian, the Christmas tradition is a bit different from what the Western World is used to. In recent years, Seoul city government and various prime shopping locations run Christmas Festivals and decorate heavily for Christmas. Still, can you feel the spirit of the Season?
In this video, I explore Gwanghwamun Christmas Market, part of Seoul Winter Festa with special sections for Christmas shopping and interactive experiences; specially spectacular is the digital light and sound show on Gwnaghwamun Gate.
Later, I explore with a friend the Christmas decorations at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul, as well as some comfort food at Gwanghwamung Gukbap Restaurant.
Lastly, we explore the exciting Cheonggyecheon Stream with two decorated sections - Christmas Tree and Decorations and the Anual Winter Lantern Festival- which display amazingly beautiful, big-size lanterns.
