Street vendors in Bhubaneswar are protesting against the eviction policies of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA). They allege that they are being evicted inhumanely without regard for the Street Vendors Act. The Street Vendors Association organized a protest, and hundreds of vendors marched and gheraoed the BMC's North Zone office. They have demanded a permanent rehabilitation plan before any eviction takes place and have warned against further evictions without prior arrangement.
