Some of you might have used illicit drugs before. Or maybe you have always been tempted to use them.

In general this might seem like a fun or thrilling experience, but as a medical doctor I want to warn you for the potential consequences. Each hit, snort or pill, can have a devastating impact on your health and life.

This is one for the reasons why illicit drugs are illegal in most countries.
Depending on the drug of choice, the dosage, the frequency of use, your tolerance and genetics; serious health problems could occur.

Such as heart attacks, stroke, and respiratory failure. And Drugs like cocaine, methamphetamine, and ecstasy can also cause damage to the brain and nervous system.

So remember, the only way to protect your health is to stay away from illicit drugs and seek help if you or someone you know is struggling with addiction.
