Resident Evil is probably my favorite video game series of all time, and perhaps the biggest mystery around the games is the identity of the live action actors in the first game. They were only ever credited with first names that may or may not have been fake. Of particular interest was the actor behind Barry Burton, because his character provided most of the most quotable lines in the game. However, people searched for years for the actor with no results.

Eventually, a voice actor by the name Barry Gjerde was found to be the man behind Barry's lines. Due to his resemblance to the character, it was believed that he was also the man in the live action sequences. However, in an interview done with ResidentEvilDatabase, he revealed that he was not the man in the videos, and he had no idea who he was. This meant that the search for Barry Burton's live action actor would continue.

It was not until a few months ago in September of 2017 that his live action actor was found. The scenes were performed by an Australian school teacher named Gregory Smith, who so closely resembled the original drawings of the character that the producers hired him to play the part.
