Life in the mountains was difficult for Farkhunda and her children, Mustafa and Mersad. They lived in a small, damp cave, struggling to find food and water every day. One day, while Farkhunda was digging a cave, Master Reza called with good news. He had found Farkhunda a job at a fish farm. Overjoyed by this news, Farkhunda immediately packed up her things and went to the farm with Master Reza. There, she encountered a new world. The smell of fish, the sound of water, and the movement of fish in the ponds were all new and amazing to her and her children. Farkhunda set to work with great perseverance and effort. Together, she and her children would move and care for the fish. Each fish that was moved symbolized hope and a brighter future. For Farkhunda and her children, the fish had become a symbol of hope and new life.
